Bad News..

The Gators lost yesterday! I was so upset because they were down by three the whole game then they got their hits together and scored two. So here I am thinking they are gonna pick up where they left off, but then Tennessee scores four more and switches pitchers on us! It's alright though because Washington beat Nebraska. Florida better beat Nebraska! As far as the Washington and Tennessee game..that'll be a tough one. Washington is going to have to rely on their hitting and strongest pitcher. I believe Tennessee will utilize both of the Renfroe sisters in the pitching circle, and focus on small ball trying to get some runs across. Shocking me, Texas beat Arizona St., but I guess I have to face the fact that Arizona St. just isn't the powerhouse they used to  be. Oklahoma came through yesterday beating Michigan. So the next round of games is Fl. vs. Nebraska, Washington vs Tennessee, Texas vs Oklahoma, and Arizona St. vs Michigan.

Issues

Turns out me, sharpie, and brackets don't work out, so I'll tell you what I think will happen as the World Series happens. Tonight I think Washington will definitely beat Nebraska. Florida will beat Tennessee twice out of the 3, so they will later play Washington. Arizona State will beat Texas, and Oklahoma will beat Michigan, so they later meet up with Arizona State.

First Round

Today is the first round of games in the Women's College World Series. Unfortunately the Gators play the Tennessee Lady Vols in the first game. The Lady Vols have a great pitching staff, including the Renfroe sisters, and the Gators may have a hard time getting their offense started. I'm about to print a bracket that I will fill out then post on here later.

Ducks!

Also in my top favorite softball teams are the Oregon Ducks. I've been a fan of this team since the 2009-2010 season when Neena Bryant was their center fielder. At the time Neena was my favorite softball player; I even modeled my right handed stane (which I still use today) after hers. The Ducks are scheduled to play Nebraska this Saturday and Sunday.

Super Regionals

The Florida Gators beat USF 2-0 on Sunday May 19. Hannah Rogers pitched a great game only giving up two hits. Now they advance to the Super Regionals for a sixth time. Their first game will be Saturday, May 25.

This Weekend

This past weekend I had a tournament in  Burlington. I haven't played since October or November. I did well considering this.We played 4 games on Saturday and none on Sunday because of the weather. I think I had two or three RBI's in the middle two games. We won the first three, but in the third game some errors at critical times got us down and then the other team brought in their ace pitcher, Z. She shut everyone, but a few girls down and we couldn't get our hits together to get back the runs we gave up. Last week I was out at the softball field working on slapping and hitting from the left side. When I can get the pictures and videos from my phone to the computer then I will post them.

SEC Championship

They did it! The Florida Gators beat the Missouri tigers 10-4 on Saturday. I'll admit I was worried in the beginning when the tigers ace pitcher, Chelsea Thomas, was shutting down the Gators. The Gators were behind by two when Kelsey Horton and Kristi Merritt got the Gator offense going with a couple home runs, and the rest is history. .

Gator Update

Last night the Gators beat the Crimson Tide with a final score of 8-4. Today the Gators will go on to play the Georgia Bull Dogs, who yesterday beat LSU 7-0. Yesterday Tennessee beat South Carolina 5-0 and today they play Missouri. I believe the game between the Gators and the Bull Dogs will be close. The Gators are almost always technically perfect, but if they make any mistakes the Bull Dogs will be all over it. I predict the Gators win by 2-3 runs.

 

Tonight's Game

Tonight there will be four quarter final games ill be watching. The most important one to me is at 11am the number one seed Florida Gators vs number 6 seed Alabama Crimson Tide. Usually I go for the underdog but I've been a Gator fan since THEY were the underdogs. It won't be a blow out game. I predict the gators win by 2-3 runs.

The purpose of this blog is to educate on the game of softball. I will tell about the fundamentals, show pictures of me or other people practicing, and occasionally review a game I may watch or my own game.
